Future Artworks

Learn what to look for and how to fix it and how to prevent this same problem in future artworks. Having the ability to look with a critical eye at your artwork is an invaluable skill for artists.

Preparatory Tool for Painting

Learn through practice and build your understanding of fine art drawing as a preparatory tool for painting, sculpture and printmaking as well as character and environment development for animated digital applications. You will apply your skills from previous drawing experience to drawing projects with flexible guidelines, and you will be encouraged to think critically in relation to drawing's unique ability to give spontaneous form and substance to objective observation and to your thought and emotion. Prerequisites: Drawing I and II or the equivalent.

Full Investigation of Facial Anatomy

Participants should anticipate a rigorous, yet lively course covering a full investigation of facial anatomy, accurate observational measurement strategies, proper rendering techniques for the capture of dramatic light and shadow, and direction on how to create a compelling contemporary portrait. This offering is open to all levels of experience, however, the workshop is best suited for those with previous basic drawing training In conjunction with a solo exhibit of Kassan's drawings at Manifest Gallery, the Brooklyn based artist will be offering an intensive four-day portrait drawing workshop continuing the Manifest Drawing Center's ongoing series of such courses instructed by prominent nationally known artist-instructors. An intensive, 4-day workshop focusing upon drawing the portrait from a live model.

Monsters In My Dreams

Pen and ink creates a higher degree of contrast than pencil, and can be diluted with water; therefore, many artists see pen and ink as a more expressive media. Pen and ink is one of the many options available if you draw. One of the disadvantages of pen and ink is that ink is not particularly forgiving. Drawing you favorite subjects, then, takes time and practice, and you may want to practice with pencil for awhile Once an artist lays down a line in ink, it will stay on the page.
